Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act as the governing document of India. The effect of Constitution turns the nation into a newly formed republic. The day is celebrated throughout the country. Main function is organised in the Rajpath of New Delhi. Colourful Processions and Tablos of different states are moved in the Roads of Rajpath with great enthusiasm. President of India gives salute to all the Tabloos and participants of the Celebration and make it a grand success. Chief guest is generally chosen from the state heads of other countries. Preparation of this grand function starts a few months back. The weapons of three forces are also show-cased here. Military and paramilitary forces show their might in the Parade. The area is decorated nicely. All the Government buildings are decorated with lights.
