Saga Dawa is an auspicious month for Sikkimese. It is also known as the Triple Blessed Festival. When the Saga star appears in the sky in the fourth month of the Tibetan calendar, Tibetan Buddhists celebrate the auspicious time of the year.
This month's festival on full moon day celebrates Buddhist Shakyamuni, Those born, knowledge, and nirvana were all born in the same month and reached its peak on 15 April. Assuming that good deeds and prayers multiplied during this period, people are much more compassionate than usual.
The Jokhang chant around the temple and offer alms to the needy, avoiding killing animals. They release animals in their natural habitats with a sincere prayer like fish. More pilgrims visit Mount Kailash during the Saga Dawa festival to attend the flag-raising ceremony at Tarabache and kora around Mount, which is the biggest activity for Tibetan Buddhists.
Saga Dawa Festival Tour gives you a chance to see the local people celebrate their most important religious festival and experience this unique culture. You can not only see grand Buddhist activities but can also join the prayer and quora to feel the spirit of devotion and philanthropy of Tibetan culture.
If a Nepali or Tibetan Mangan comes to visit, the language will not be a hindrance to them, because many languages, including Nepali and Bhootiya, are the official languages of Mangan.
Unlike other places of Sikkim, the residents here speak many languages. Nepali, Bhutia, Lepcha, Limbu, Newari, Rai, Gurung, Mangar, Sherpa, Tamang, and Sunwar are prominent in these languages.
