Nowhere in history more bountiful than in the Agra. The architecture-minded legacy of the Mughal era and its extraordinary system of structures dedicated to the living and the dead, in a series of monuments and tombs and which are now watched by the world. Chini ka Rauza is one among them, the ultimate meeting of the old and the new, a testament to honor and patronage, and awesome architectural finesse jutting out of the monument's very walls. Situated at a distance of 1 km north of Itmad-Ud-Daulah's tomb, Chini ka Rauza is the tomb of Allama Afzal Khan Mullah of Shiraz, a scholar and poet who was the Prime Minister of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Built in 1635 AD, the tomb has a rectangular shape and is made up of brown colored stones. The tiles are in blue, yellow and green colors and the ceilings have decorative inscriptions. The central chamber is octagonal and has eight arched recesses. Four, square chambers emerge from it and are connected to the side halls and outer porches. You can enter the Chini ka Rauza from the central arch where there are inscriptions marked out with blue colored tiles.
