Sabarmati Ashram is known as Gandhi Ashram, established on 17 June 1917 at the banks of the Sabarmati River in Ahmedabad.
Sabarmati Ashram is also considered as a National Monument.
It's a peaceful Ashram with a serene atmosphere and has a beautiful Statue of Gandhi Ji sitting on a stone platform in its lawn fill with lush greenery.
The Ashram was originally at the Kocharab Bunglow of Jivanlal Desai, a Barrister and friend of Gandhiji. The Ashram was then called the Satyagraha Ashram.
Now the Ashram has a museum, the Gandhi Smarak Sangrahalay, that showcases the information, belongings, and photographs of Mahatma Gandhi.
Originally it was located in Gandhiji's own cottage in the Ashram, the Hriday Kunj.
