Mizoram in the local Mizo language means 'land of mountains'. Indeed, to call this place a mountain of the earth should not fall under the category of exaggeration. This place is also called the land of the Blue Mountains. Phawngpui Peak is the highest mountain peak in Mizoram and is located in the Salsa district. Situated at a distance of about 300 km from the capital Aizawl, this beautiful blue peak has a height of 2,157 meters. The Phawngpui mountain peak gets cloudy in all the months of the year. This is why it looks blue from a distance. This mountain peak is famous for its amazing natural beauty, landscape, rich flora, and fauna. However, this mountain peak is uninhabited, but near this is a village called Sangau, where a small population lives. There are many unique villages in the valley of this peak with groups of pines and bamboo houses. The Phawngpui mountain peak is part of the Phawngpui National Park. Camping is the main attraction for tourists here.
