Karamadikuttan, a tourist destination in Alleppey, attracts a lot of tourists. Karamadikuttan (meaning Karumadi's boy) is the oldest Buddhist establishment center in the region. It is about 3 km from Alappuzha in Kerala and is located in a village called Karamadi.
It is a famous Buddhist pilgrimage site. The temple is situated on the banks of Punnamada lake. Karamadikuttan is a 10th-century commemoration present in the city of Alleppey.
There are many ancient heritage sites which have been destroyed by natural disaster or destructive activities of man, and also, this disaster has affected this Buddhist idol made of black granite, which is the only Buddhist temple in Kerala.
Devotees can still feel the infinite presence and spirituality of the temple and come from different parts of the country to seek blessings.
