Mannarasala Sri Nagaraja Temple is dedicated to Nagaraja (God of Snake) and his consort Sarparayakshi. One of the most worshiped temples around the world. The temple, associated with myths and folklore, which is the famous snake deity of Kerala.
According to a legend, Lord Parshuram, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, personally blessed this temple. The presiding deity of immense powers is worshiped mainly for the conception of women.
Many rituals are organized to please Lord Nagaraja. Snake bills, ornaments, various types of utensils, milk, fruits, and turmeric are offered as offerings.
The temple is situated in a dense forest, suited as the abode of the presiding deity Nagaraja. More than 30000 snakes are depicted on the way to the temple.
