Alleppey

A city on the Laccadive Sea in the southern Indian state of Kerala is Alappuzha (or Alleppey). The city is famous for houseboat cruises, the Rustic backwaters of Kerala, a network of tranquil canals, and a number of lagoons.

The 19th-century Alappuzha Lighthouse is situated on Alappuzha Beach. A traditional design Mullakkal Temple is an added attraction.

Snake boat races of Punnamada Lake are a well-known event held every year.

The city is among the ancient, organized towns in India and is famous for its several backwater canals, beaches, paddy fields, and lagoons. The city is iconic for its houseboats cruises in the backwaters and attracts thousands of visitors each year.

It has a very nice, beautiful beach.

There are no crocodiles in Alleppey backwaters so you can enjoy the backwaters of Alleppey without any fear. Ananth Pura lake temple is the only place in Kerala where crocodiles are available.

Alleppey can be visited at any time of the year, but the best time is November to February.
