Amaravati

The capital city of Andhra Pradesh state, Amaravathi is a peaceful destination. It holds high historical significance and receives a decent footfall. Being the geographically central location in the state of Andhra Pradesh it has been decided to build the new state capital of Andhra Pradesh in the southern bank of Krishna river at Amaravati. It is to be built on a 217 sq km riverfront designed consisting of 51% of green spaces and 10% of water bodies. The word "Amaravati" derives from the historical Amaravati Village, the ancient capital of the Satavahana Dynasty. The present capital area has its historical significance of having recorded its first-ever legislation 2,200 years ago. The present-day capital region includes the ancient Amaravati. The area has been ruled by the Satavahanas, Mauryas, Ikshvakus, Vishnukundina, Pallavas, Cholas, Kakatiyas, Bahamani Sultanate, Vijayanagara Empire, Delhi Sultanate, Golconda and Mughal Empire successively before the founding of Nizam of Hyderabad in 1724. Then ruled by France and Britishers. So it has gone under different rulers of different caste, creed, and religion. So, its culture is also a mixture of different castes, religions, etc.Due to historical significance, a number of places attract visitors in large numbers.
