Mankhim is a hilltop located in Aritar named after the temple of Khumbu (Rai), one of the oldest ethnic groups in Nepal.
Mankhim is a viewpoint from where one can enjoy a panoramic view of the snow-clad hills of the mighty Kangchenjunga.
On a bright clear day, you can even see the Jelep La Pass and the small gaits of Zuluk.
It is also famous for the temple of Mankhim Rai. Here pilgrims of the Rai community are appointed twice a year for the festival of Sakev, one for worship. This worship is called Ubhauli in Nepali culture.
One can organize a picnic at the popular picnic spot called Luv Dara, located near Mankhim.
This place is also an ideal place for the avid bird watcher. Mankhim is open for tourists throughout the year.
