Sundaridiya Satra is a famous Satra situated in Barpeta, Assam. This Satra played a vital role in spreading Vaishnavism in the state of Assam.
This Satra was constructed by Sri Madhabdeva, and he stayed in this Satra for about 14 years after establishing it. During his stay in this Satra, the great saint also dug a well that still preserved in this Satra. The water of this well is still stored in this Satra. It is believed that the water of this well is very holy, and people say that if the devotees visiting the Satra and drink the sacred water of the well, then all their sins will get washed away.
This Satra has turned into one of the most visited tourist places of Barpeta. Three Asanas have made in this Satra for three respectable gurus of the institution.
At this place, the Beer Nam and Paal Nam were created by the great saint, and the two most popular epics composed by the Guru are the Bhakti Ratnakar, and Namghosa and preserved in this Satra.
This place can be visited during any time of the year but the best time to visit this place is from October to January.
