The unconquered Lohagarh fort stands tall in the city of Bharatpur, Rajasthan built by Jat ruler Maharaja Suraj Mal Singh. The Lohagarh fort is also known as the Iron Fort. The fort stands tall unconquered even today. Many attempts by British rulers and others were foiled because of its strong architecture. Visitors can enter the fort from its two gates one in the north is known as Ashtdhaatu (eight metalled) gate while the other facing the south is called Chowburja (four-pillared) gate. The historic fort comprises various monuments in it like Kishori Mahal, Mahal Khas, and Kothi Khas. Moti Mahal (Bharatpur). Moti Mahal and towers like Jawahar Burj and Fateh Burj were erected to commemorate the victory over the Mughals and the British Army.
