Brahmayoni Temple is an amazing tourist cum religious site in Bodh Gaya which was built by a Maratha-chieftain, Rao Bhau Saheb, in the bygone era and has a flight of 424 steps.
It is an ancient temple located in the Brahmayoni Gufa, the highest peak of Bodhgaya, home of a five-headed idol of Brahma, which represents the creative and female energy of Lord Brahma.
It is the place Where Buddha preached the fire sermon. It is believed that by hearing his teachings each ascetic became enlightened.
Brahmayoni is situated on the highest hilltop of Gaya so it also provides a beautiful panoramic view of the nearby places. At the top, there is one more cave named Maitreyiyoni Gufa and a temple of Sri Ashtabhuja Devi.
September to March is the ideal time to visit this place when the temperature is perfect for spending a day around the hill.
