Kakoijana Wildlife Sanctuary is a famous tourist spot in Assam. It is just 15 km away from Bongaigaon, situated on the banks of the river Ail.
The most famous residents of this sanctuary are the Golden Langurs. Formerly a reserve forest, but later it got approval from the government to get the status of a sanctuary.
This sanctuary serves as a house for various species of animals like Leopard, Hornbill, Python, Stork, Golden Langur, Pangolin, and monitor Lizards. Golden Langurs are listed as a rare species in this sanctuary. This sanctuary also houses other rare and highly endangered species like Jungle Fowl, Binturong, and many more.
Along with the animals, you can also find many varieties of birds like Red Vented Bulbul, Jungle Bubbler, Pied Harrier in this sanctuary.
Kalikapat acts as an additional attraction in the Kakoijana Wildlife Sanctuary. Kalikapat is a spring on the hill which flows through the dense forest and reaches the plains, and this makes the sanctuary more beautiful and attractive.
It is surrounded by greenery, and thus it is an ideal place for animals to live.
