Kalika Mata Temple

This temple of Mahakali is situated on a hill near Pavagadh Champaner is one of the Shaktipeeths of Mother Sati. Shaktipeeth is said to be the place of worship, where the parts of Mother Sati fell. According to the legend, Sati, who was humiliated during the Yajna of Father Daksha, gave up his life with the force of yoga. Distressed by the death of Sati, Lord Shiva wandered across the universe, disregarding her dead body. Wherever the parts of the mother fell, the Shaktipeeth became there.

If people believed, the right toe of Mata Sati fell here in Pavagadh, due to which the name of this place became Pavagadh, and that is why this place is considered very revered and sacred. The temple has a statue of Dakshinamukhi Kali Maa, which is worshiped in Tantric. A large crowd of devotees throngs this temple during Navratri. People have deep faith here. He believes that after visiting here, the mother fulfills his every wish.  Tourists can reach the upper part of the Pavagadh hill by taking rope-way on this hill. 
The supernatural views surrounding the temple from the high hill in Pavagadh are very pleasing to the minds of tourists. The nearest airport is Ahmedabad Airport, which is about 190 km from here and 50 km from Vadodara.

The nearest major railway station here is in Vadodara, which is connected by direct rail lines to Delhi and Ahmedabad. After reaching Vadodara, accessible means of road traffic are available.
