One of the largest commercial,financial and business centres in New Delhi. In short it is called 'CP'and houses the headoffices of several Indian Firms of repute. As of July 2018, Connaught Place was the ninth most expensive office location in the world with an annual rent of US$153 per sq ft. The main commercial area of New Delhi, occupies a place of pride in the city. Connaught Place is considered as one of the top heritage structures in Delhi. It was developed as a showpiece of the Lutyens' Delhi, named after British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. Construction of CP started in the year 1929 and completed in 1933. An underground AC Market is made - it is called Palika Bazar. It also houses a park called Central Park. No. of Festivals are arranged in the park. Afterwards a metro railway station also built and it is named Rajiv Chowk.
