Bhagamandala is a holy pilgrimage site for Hindus in Kodagu Karnataka. It is situated on the confluence of three rivers namely, Kaveri, Kannike and Sujyoti. It is considered to be a manifestation of the sacred influence of the holy rivers and is known as Triveni Sangam.
During the Tula transition, tourists come here to take a bath in it and then visit Talacauvery. A bath in the holy waters of the Bhagamandala is not only sacred but also a very spiritually uplifting and cleansing experience and has a positive effect on the mind, body, and soul.
At a short distance, the famous Shri Bhagdeshwara Temple is situated where Lord Bhagdeshwara is worshipped. Apart from this, Subramaniam, Mahavishnu, and Ganapati are also worshiped in this temple.
This place is also known as Bhagdeshwara Kshetra, which derived from the name of Bhagamandala. This temple is built in Kerala style.
During 1785-1790, Tipu Sultan captured this temple, he burned and destroyed it and named it as Afesalabad, . Later in 1790, King Dodda Vira Rajendra captured the entire area and make an independent Kodagu kingdom, he restored its name as Bhagamandla.
