The Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is situated between the border of Wayanad and Coorg, on the Western Ghats, and the highest peak of this sanctuary is Brahmagiri. This sanctuary spread over an area of 181 sq. km.
It is known for its mesmerizing scenic beauty, lush greenery, and diverse flora and fauna. Many types of wildlife found in this sanctuary, such as the lion-tailed macaw, elephant, gaur, tiger, wild cat, leopard cat, wild dog, sloth bear, wild boar, sambar, spotted, Nilgiri langur, slender loris, and bonnet macaw.
Other animals are also found here such as Langur, Barking Deer, Mouse Deer, Malabar Giant Squirrel, Giant Flying Squirrel, Nilgiri Materns, Common Attar, Brown Mangooses, Civet, Porcupine, Pangolin, Pythons, Cobra, King Cobra, Emerald Dove, Black Bulbul, and Malabar Trogon.
Varieties of birds are also found here, in which black bulbul, Malabar trogon, etc. are found here.
It is the best place for trekkers. Many trekkers come here for trekking.
