Nagarhole National Park is a part of the Nigiris Biosphere Reserve. This national park, popularly known as Rajiv Gandhi National Park, known to have one of the best wildlife reserves in the country.
It was established in 1955 and declared a tiger reserve in 1999, it offers spectacular views of splendid waterfalls, beautiful valleys, and slender streams.
Nagarhole National Park is home to various species of flora and fauna and is known to have a good tiger-prey ratio.
On visiting the national park, tourists can spot Bengal tiger, sloth bears, elephants, leopards, four-horned deer, wild boars, lizards, Indian wild bulls, macaques, flying foxes, and other animals.
The reptile population also includes pythons, cobras, kraits, crocodiles, and vipers.
Tourists who are interested in ornithology can see different species of birds in Nagarhole National Park.
