Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary

Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Somwarpet Taluk. This place is known as the world's most important bird sanctuaries, and many types of birds are found here, among which are the grey-breasted laughing thrush, black, orange flycatcher, Nilgiri flycatcher, tech shelter, are important. Kadamakkal Reserve Forest is part of the sanctuary.

The sanctuary adjoins Bisle reserve forest to the north and Kukke Subramaniam in the west. The height of this sanctuary varies from 160 meters to 1712 meters at different places.

The highest peak here is Pushpagiri Peak, and a part of this sanctuary is also Kumaraparvat Peak. Hill peaks, swamps, and waterfalls are also located in this sanctuary.

This sanctuary surrounded by 70 percent of dense forests. There are many evergreen and deciduous trees in this sanctuary, that keep this area full of greenery.

Many animals and birds, such as Wild Dog, Brown Palm Civet, Indian Joint Squirrel, Indian Muntjac, Gaur, Asian Elephant, Wild Boar, Joint Flying Squirrel, etc. also found in this wildlife sanctuary.

Birds like Nilgiri Wood Pigeon, Blue-Winged Parakeet, Grey-headed Bulbul, Malabar Gray Hornbill, White Bellied Blue Flycatcher, and Small Sunbird also found here.

The thick forest is home to Cobra, Indian rock python, rat snake, olive keelback, king cobra, and bamboo pit viper.
