Bhagsunath Temple

Bhagsunag Temple, a major religious center, is situated at an altitude of 1770 meters above sea level. Dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, the temple reflects the art and culture of medieval times. This ancient temple is considered sacred by the Hindu and Gorkha communities. There are beautiful ponds within the premises of the temple. Travelers can see water springs from several tiger heads in the pond. The local people believe that the water in these ponds has healing potential. In addition, the idols enshrined in the temple are believed to possess incredible powers. The complex has a two-story rest house where pilgrims visiting the temple can stay. According to a legend, this temple was built by King Bhagsu. According to folklore, King Bhagsu and Nagaraja, also known as Nag Devta, fought a battle as the king stole water from Nag Dal lake. Later, King Bhagsu built this temple from Nag Devta, sorry to have done it.
