Dehing Namti Satra is one of the famous Satra in Assam. It is located on the banks of the river Disang in Sasoni Mouza, and it is around 8 miles from Naharkatiya town.
The main branch of the Satra located at Namti in Nazira, which is at a distance of 80 km from Dibrugarh, Assam. Dehing Namti Satra founded by Binandashyan Gohain, who had a follower named Lachit Borphukan.
It is one of the main monasteries for the followers of the bhakti saints Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankardeva and Mahapurusha Madhavadeva. Dehing Namti Satra dedicated to all royal courtiers of the Ahom dynasty.
It houses the relics of all the courtiers that served the Ahoms for a prolonged period. To honor the courtiers, Dehing Namti was built and, the Satra is the structure that carries the names of the deceased royal courtiers.
There are beautiful carvings on the interior and exterior walls of the Satra, and you can see the traditional Ahom architecture on the structures. Apart from being a historical site, it also serves as a picnic destination.
