Guwahati Zoo

Zoos in Guwahati are one of the major zoos in India. Assam State Zoo Co-Botanical Garden and Guwahati Zoo are very popular places among tourists. The zoo is spread over 430 acres of land and is a densely vegetated place in the center of Guwahati, known as the Hungarian forest area. This extensive zoo is home to many exotic species of animals such as chimpanzees, white rhinos, black rhinos, zebras, ostriches, giraffes from Africa, puma, jaguar, llamas from South America, and kangaroos from Australia. To get these exotic animals the zoo is used to send indigenous animals, like one-horned Indian rhinoceros and others, to other countries. Tourists visiting Guwahati must visit this zoo.
