Kameswar temple is situated in Hajo of Kamrup district, Assam. It is believed that this temple constructed during the rule of Ahom king Pramatta Singha in 1744 CE. There is a giant elephant-shaped figure of Lord Ganesha inside this temple. Kameswar temple is an example of archaeological beauty.
The structure of this temple is unique and beautiful. This temple consists of a square garbhagriha and a rectangular Mukha mandapa, the outer walls of the Sanctum provided with lower niches, and the shikhara or the top of the temple is domical, and the mukha mandapa covered by a barrel-vaulted roof.
