Hazaribagh Jheel

Situated in the heart of the town, Hazaribagh jheel is a series of artificial lakes with seven parts all on different levels so that water spills over to the other lake through a spill channel. In comparison to the famous lakes of India, it is a small lake. Very famous because most prominent bungalows of various civil servants are situated here, ranging from the commissioner to the judges of the district. The best view of the sunrise and the sunset is enjoyed at the end of the third lake, which happens to be the largest one and where the boating facility is also available. This is the ideal place for photographers, one of the beautiful locations in the small town in Jharkhand, which still has some charm though inundated by lots of encroachment from all around. The place has a famous jail where Shri Jayprakash Narayan was jailed.
