To commemorate the Qutub Shahi Era, (Since Qutub Shahi rulers are very much fond of Art, Culture and literature and patron also), Deccan Festival is celebrated every year in the capital city of Hyderabad.
This five-day festival is also known as Hyderabad Festival which is celebrated in an extravagant fashion and is held in Qutub Shahi Tomb near Golkonda Fort.
The event is filled with colours, and comprises Music and Fairs, and this big event showcases the art and culture of the city.
The state tourism department organises the festival to make the tradition and culture of the area become alive. It seems that this festival is the most enjoyable and massive and vibrant among all the festivals held in the state.
In this festival Nawabi Gajal, Folk dance, Traditional Music and Mushairas, Recitation, Qawali performance are the main attraction to the tourists coming from all over the country and abroad.
Local cuisine like Hyderabadi Biriyani, also an added attraction to the participants and visitors.
Shinning and colourful Pearl jewellery, bangles and craft items are displayed in the fair which is a treat to the eye and you must take them as mementos.
