Golconda Fort, just 11 km from Hyderabad is one of the major attractions of the region. The region's best-preserved monument, Golconda Fort lived a dazzling life in the 15th century.
Now only ruins of glorious past are seen here. This fort was built by the rulers of the Qutab Shahi dynasty, who ruled here from 1512. Ibrahim Quli Qutab Shah Wali contributed most to the fort.
This fort was built to avoid the invasion of Mughals from the northern end. The acoustic of this Fort is the biggest feature. The construction of the Fort was completed in 1600.
Koh-I-Noor Diamond was preserved here once, as a result, the place is very famous.
If you stand in the palace courtyard and clap, it will be heard from the highest place in the palace, which is situated at a height of 91 meters from the main gate.
It is believed that a secret tunnel connects the Golconda fort to Charminar. However, no evidence has been found until now.
