Dalpat Sagar Lake

Dalpat Sagar Lake is located within Jagdalpur. It is one of the largest artificial lakes in Chhattisgarh. It was built more than 400 years ago by King Dalpat Dev Kakatiya to store rainwater. There is an ancient temple on the island located in the center of Dalpat Sagar. The temple is of the local goddess. It is situated on an island, one has to take a paddleboat, or fishing boat to reach there. If one comes here, one gets to stand on the island and get a wonderful experience of the beauty of the surroundings. The Government of Chhattisgarh has provided facilities of paddle boats and motorboats to enjoy the Dalpat Sagar. The Chhattisgarh government has also built islands on the Dalpat Sagar, on which people can sit, relax, and experience the beauty of the lake. The island is rich with coconut trees, a light tower, and a musical fountain. One can spend many hours on the island and enjoy the sunset when the musical fountain gives the island a distinct beauty and attracts many tourists.
