A sacred temple of the local goddess Maa Danteshwari worshiped as an incarnation of Shakti, situated 84 km away from the city of Jagdalpur is Danteshwari Temple.
It is believed that many divine powers are enshrined in this temple. Thousands of tribals from nearby villages and forests gather here to worship Goddess on Dussehra every year.
The Danteshwari temple was built in the 14th century by the Chalukya kings in the architecture of South Indian temples. The idol of Danteshwari Mai is of black stone embedded there.
The temple is divided into four parts, like Garbha Griha, Mahamandapa, Main Mandapa, and Sabha Mandapa. The Garbha Griha and the Maha Mandapa are constructed from the same stone piece.
There is a Garuda pillar in front of the entrance of the temple. The temple has a large courtyard surrounded by massive walls and furnished with sculpture. Come and visit this temple with family and friends.
