Kanger Valley National Park is one of the most popular national parks in Chhattisgarh, located near Jagdalpur. One can easily reach here by road from Jagdalpur. It derives its name from the Kangra River, which flows from southeast direction towards the north-west. The forest area was established on 22 July 1982 to conserve biodiversity and protect large species of flora and fauna like the tiger, barking deer, bear, hyena, jackal, blackbuck, Langoor, wolf, and many reptiles. The park also offers many waterfalls, caves, and ponds of Chhattisgarh. During monsoons, the waterfalls can be seen gushing heavily, during the winters, you can walk through the second-longest natural cave in the world and during summers, you can take a dip at the ponds formed below the waterfalls and get refreshed.
