Peer Kho Cave Temple is situated on the banks of the Tawi River amidst dense forests in Jammu. It is also known as Jamvant Cave. Peer Kho temple is the medieval period jewel of the city of Jammu.
As per some of the historical records, the temple was built in the 15th century, during the ruling regime of Raja Dev, for then Peer, Saint Siddha Ghareeb Nath.
Peer Kho Cave is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is the oldest temple in the city. A Shivlinga is installed in the temple.
Local people believe that this temple is associated with temples and caves outside India. Thousands of devotees come to worship in this temple during Puranmashi, Amavasya, and Ekadashi.
