The Ardhkuwari cave is considered to be one of the few pits stops on your way to pay respects to the Vaishno Devi Shrine.
Legend has that Mata Vaishno Devi meditated in Ardhkuwari cave for nine months before beheading the demon Bhairvnath in Ardhkuwari cave. He later made the building his residence. Located halfway to the Vaishno Devi Temple, Ardhkuwari serves as a stop for pilgrims on their journey to the building.
Ardhkuwari Cave is 52 feet long, and it is also known as Garbajun Cave, as the shape of this cave looks like a mother's womb. Devotees believe that when Mata Vaishno killed Bhairav, his head flew off into the valley while his body remained in the Ardhkuwari cave.
To go to the other side of the Ardhkuwari cave, one has to crawl on the knees. On the other side, you can see a big temple that is dedicated to three goddesses - Ma Kali, Ma Lakshmi, and Ma Sarasvati.
The Darshan Marg is semicircular so that you exit at a distance from the entrance through a separate entry route.
