The largest city in Jharkhand, popularly known as Steel City or Tatanagar, famous for its beauty and the most populous city, is Jamshedpur. It is called the industrial city of India, which was founded by the late Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata. Jamshedpur is the headquarters of East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand and is the third-largest city in eastern India after Kolkata and Patna. It is one of the largest industrial areas in India and has more than a thousand small and medium scale industries. Some of the major attractions of the city are Jubilee Park, made for the people of Jamshedpur for the completion of 50 years of Tata Steel, Dimna Lake, an artificial reservoir, the main source of drinking water for the people of the city. The lake has many fun events for tourists such as jet skiing, rowing, and water scooting. Some of the other interesting places are Tata Steel Zoological Park, Chandil Dam, Reverse Meat, Hudco Lake, Center for Excellence, Bhatia Park, Moolgaokar Park, Bhuvaneshwari Temple, etc. Jamshedpur was earlier known as Sakchi and in 1918 the place renamed from Sakchi to Jamshedpur.
