Kosi River

Kosi River, one of the most important river in the region and for Jim Corbett National Park, is an ancient river that flows through the lush green valleys and towns of Ramnagar, Uttarakhand. Kosi is a perennial river that originates from the Dharpani Dhar situated at a distance of 2500 meters in the Baramandal region of Almora district of Uttarakhand.

This Himalayan river is famous among the local population as Kosila. With a length of 168 Kilometers, the Kosi River feeds the Kumaon farmland and is a source of water for the thriving wildlife in the Corbett National Park.

It is so attractive that you can not return from Ramnagar without seeing the Kosi river. It forms the eastern border of the Jim Corbett National park and main source of water for wild animals.
