Dhekiakhowa Bor Namghar is a famous namghar located in the Jorhat district of Assam. It was established in the year 1461 by saint cum reformer Madhavdeva, he kindled an earthen lamp, and it has been burning till today. The priest of this namgarh keeps refueling the earthen lamp when required.
It is one of the oldest namghars in Assam, and it has a large campus. The word Namghar means name house, which is associated with a religion called Ekasarana in the state of Assam, and it is their congregational place of worship.
Dhekiakhowa Bor Namghar is spread over an area of 13 bighas, and the complex also houses some structure other than the namghar.
The donations given by the devotees help in the maintenance of the complex and the namghar. The committee also sponsors various social and cultural programs throughout the year. The environment of this place is very calm and peaceful.
