Kotilingeshwara temple is located in the Kolar district which is a part of the state of Karnataka. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva (God of creation and destroyer).
The main attraction of this temple is Kotilingeshwara idol which is 108 feet tall and stands at the first position in the biggest Shivalingas around the world. The Kotilingeshwara temple also houses a 35 feet tall idol of Nandi (vehicle of Lord Shiva).
The main shrine consists of Kotilingeshwara (main deity) and surrounding the big lingam there are the small temples for other Hindu gods like Lord Vishnu, Lord Brahma, and Lord Maheshwara.
The holy place of Kotilingeshwara temple houses around 90 lakh Lingas of different sizes. The aim of this temple to install 1 crore Shivalingas.
