Millennium Park is an amusement park located on the east bank of the Hooghly River, near Stand Road, BBD Bagh, Kolkata. It is known for its scenic beauty and recreational activities.
It spread over 2.5 km from ferry Ghat. It was built to provide a green area to the polluted waterways of Kolkata. It was inaugurated on 26 December 1999.
The park is decorated with different types of trees and lights. It includes a variety of fun activities like kids zone, lush garden, manicured grass, playground, toy train, pirates, rough cars, breakdance, boat ride, etc. Children, youth, and adults all come here to spend peaceful evenings.
People come here on Sundays or holidays to take advantage of activities like picnics, boating etc. with their families.
The park has a large food court with eight stalls adorned with tables, chairs, and wooden branches. Ferry Ghat, Bara Bazar, General Post Office, and the High Court of Kolkata are located around this park.
Apart from this, a panoramic view of Howrah Bridge can also be seen from here.
