Netaji Bhawan is the ancestral home of freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose. It is located on Elgin Road and maintained by Kolkata Municipal Corporation, built-in 1909 by Netaji's father, Jankinath Bose, and was the center of political activities.
It is said that Netaji spent some of the early years of his life and most of the freedom struggle here. Tourists can visit the well-stocked museum and library located in the house where Netaji's mementos are displayed.
The museum was established in the year 1961 and is well conserved.
Netaji's bedroom and the carriage and ladder used to escape during his detention have been preserved here.
This house has the impression of traditional Bengali style, with pillars and a large courtyard.
