Generally, the event is celebrated in the month of October. More than 4-5 lakh people from all over the globe come here to visit the colourful festival.
On the 1st day, a colourful procession is held where Lord Raghunath, the ruling deity of the valley taken in a chariot and other village deities are also taken to the other end of the Maidan.
The following days are celebrated with great devotion to music and dance performances. Culturally rich Kala Kendra Festival is held and a big feast is organised. Massive crowds are assembled in this carnival to witness and experience the power of faith and community in the laps of the mighty Himalayas.
The last day is celebrated by sacrificing a crab, fish, rooster, buffalo and lamb followed by a massive bonfire.
The bonfire signifies the burning of Lanka and then Lord Raghunath is taken back to its original position through a procession.
