An ancient temple, devoted to Lord Shiva, located in Thanesar town of Kurukshetra district, Haryana is Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple. It is said that in this temple, the Pandavas worshiped Lord Shiva and prayed for winning over the Kauravas in the war of Kurukshetra. By giving darshan, Bhagwan Shiva gave Pandavas a boon to fulfill their wishes. A small pool is located in front of the temple, according to mythological references King Baan's leprosy was cured by a few drops of ponds water. Without a visit to this temple, your pilgrimage darshan does not become complete. According to history, the ninth Guru of Sikh, Tegh Bahadur also came here, so the Gurudwara Navi Patshahi is also built near this temple in his memory.
