Located about 6.5 kilometers away from the main city area of Lonavala, Kataldhar Waterfalls is a seasonal waterfall. The Falls derives from the Rajmachi Point at the Ulhas Valley. These waterfalls are best visited during the monsoons.
Kataldhar Falls is an apt place for only experienced trekkers as the climbing is of difficult level due to the slippery rocks and hilly terrain. One has to trek down a couple of kilometers to reach the bottom of the waterfalls through a confusing and slightly dense forest area.
It has hidden caves located somewhere between the falls away from access due to the flowing water covering them.
The Kataldhar waterfall along with the Kune falls are two difficult waterfalls in the area as the region around them becomes more rocky and slippery. Their flow can be doubled in minutes during long bouts of rain, hence while trekking here you should have professionally trained guides with you as an essential element to travel through these terrains.
But the scenic beauty of Kataldhar Falls attracts numerous tourists from different parts of the country.
