Rajmachi Fort Trek

Rajmachi Fort Trek has got the fame of one of the great treks for beginners in Maharashtra. The fort has two citadels namely Shrivardhan and Manranjan. Due to crucial geographical location the fort was called the gateway to Konkan.

The route of the trek is full of scenic beaty, green plantation and hilly terrains. A large number of Trekkers come here every year for an adventurous trek. This trekking route is open throughout the year, but it is better to avoid rainy season.

There are two routes to this trek.

1. Reach Khandala Police training center from Lonavala. Now start your journey towards Village Udhewadi. There is a dirt road that leads you up to the village, you can take the help of local transport that will drop you to the Udhewadi village. But during rainy season the road becomes inaccessible, and vehicle will drop you 8 to 10 km away from the village, the remaining route you have to walk. From Udhewadi village it is hardly half an hour trek to reach Shrivardhan and Manaranjan Forts.

2. Reach Karjat by train and by booking a local transport reach Kondivade village, then proceed towards Kondane caves and from there climb up to the village Udhewadi. The time to reach Udhewadi from Kondivade is nearly 3 to 4 hours trekking. Final lap is from Udhewadi village to the Rajmachi that takes around half an hour trekking.
