A lesser-known offbeat attraction at Naneghat in Maharashtra is Reverse Waterfalls. Naneghat is a place, situated in the Western Ghats near Junnar in Pune, about three hours road journey from Mumbai.
It is an enigmatic mountain, from where flows a waterfall in the reverse direction because of the strong force of the winds that pushes the gushing waters upwards, which looks very stunning during the daylight.
There is a trekking route that was used for carrying out trade products, many years ago, perhaps, during the reign of Chhatrapati Shivaji.
The ancient caves and rock-cut pots of this place are the witnesses of the bygone ages. Almost every visitor, who comes to Naneghat would agree that it is like a heaven on earth, hence truly worth seeing.
This place is one of the weekend spots for locals and trekking here is a wonderful experience, the place also offers you the views of caves and rock patches which shows the past.
Camping is also an adventuristic experience you can have during your trip along with some thrilling activities like mountain biking and rappelling. Y
ou can take the State Transport bus from the Kalyan bus stand to Junnar from where Naneghat is easily reachable. Apart from this, the waterfall is also well connected by road, so trekking is not the only option to reach this place you can also reach here through four-wheelers.
