One of the oldest dams in India, built during the British rule in India, back in 1930-1935, located in a village named Tungarli near Lonavala is Tungarli Dam. This spot is visited by a large number of tourists from different places due to its enchanting setting. The scenic backdrop of Sahyadri Ranges makes Tungarli Dam a delightful destination for spending leisure time in the lap of nature. The place is crowded throughout the year, but the period between October-March is best for visiting here as humidity is low then. For getting there you might get on a train from Mumbai or Pune which would take 3 hours and 1 hour respectively. Frequent State Transport bus services are also available from Mumbai and Pune.
