The Visapur Fort which is a hill-fort near Visapur village, is about 5 km away from Malavli Railway Station and is a famous trekking destination in the monsoon.

The Visapur Fort which is a hill-fort near Visapur village is about 5 km away from Malavli Railway Station. It is built about 1084 m of elevation on the Lohagad Plateau. Visapur Fort which was built by Balaji Vishwanath, the first Peshwa of the Maratha Empire, is a point of great historical value. There are several temples dedicated to Hanumanji inside the fort and a well which was built by the Pandavas according to the legend. Visapur Fort is famous for its monsoon trekking routes. There are three routes to the top - first one from Patan Village, the second one from Bhaje Caves, and the third one from Gaimukh Khind. The trekking is good for excursion purposes for the beginners and is of moderate difficulty. It will take around one to two hours to get on the Visapur Fort depending on the route you choose. You are recommended plan the trek in the day time, and arrange foods, water, refreshments on your own. If possible carry a First-Aid Kit and a pair of clothes while trekking.
