Aminabad is a market in Lucknow that was developed by Shah Alam II during 1759-1806. He also built a garden in addition to Imambara, Fielkhana, and many other shops.
After his death, his wife settled and disposed of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah's minister, Imdad Hussain Khan Amendola. Later he developed several gardens, parks, big houses, a mosque, and a market known as Aminabad here.
There is also a park in the huge campus of Aminabad, which was inaugurated by the Lieutenant. On 18 February 1911, General Hewitt called Aminabad the heart of Lucknow.
This market is about 165 years old. There are a bunch of markets like the Pratap market, Swadesh market, Mohan market, and many other markets.
Aminabad also has many food and drink shops where many brands like Tunde Kabab, Dwivedi Sarai, Prakash Kulfi, Matabdal Pansari are also available.
