Maqbara of Saadat Ali Khan is located in the Qaiser Bagh area of Lucknow. It was also known as Khas Bazaar in the past times.
This tomb was build by Nawab Saadat Ali Khan's son Ghazi-Ud-Din Haider in the memory of his father in the year 1814.
The principal function of this tomb was to serve as a mausoleum for Nawab Saadat Ali Khan. He buried next to his beloved wife, Begum Khurshid Zadi. The tomb of his wife is adjacent to his Maqbara, hence making it a twin Maqbara of Lucknow.
These tombs show the rich architectural Awadhi patterns and Indo- Islamic architectural patterns. The center of attraction of this tomb is the symmetrical shape of domes along with alluring kiosks.
The front walls of the tomb have beautiful stucco work, and the floors have the chequered pattern created with marbles of black and white colors. The tomb has a magnificent structure, and it is made up of Lakhauri bricks and mortar that are locally available.
The Maqbara is near the Begum Hazrat Mahal Park. Hence, those people who visit the Maqbara can easily travel the Park to have a peaceful time.
