Nawabganj bird sanctuary located in NH - 25, about 43 km away from Lucknow in Nawabganj tehsil of district Unnao. Lucknow is one of those cities of India which has a lot of tourist attractions and has numerous historical monuments.
But if you want to take a break from humdrum city life, you should visit the Nawabganj bird sanctuary. It is a virtual heaven for nature lovers and bird watchers.
The Nawabganj bird sanctuary is also known as Shahid Chandra Shekhar Azad bird sanctuary.
The sanctuary is home to over 250 species of birds, including domestic Indian birds and migratory birds such as the Sarus crane, peafowl, king crow, Indian roller, and so on. You can also spot other wildlife in this sanctuary. It is engulfed by dense forest.
It becomes more attractive during the winters when many international birds like Mallard garganey teal, Purple moorhen, little grebe, spoonbill duck, red wattled lapwing, and many other winged creatures become guest of this sanctuary.
Besides the birds, this place also provides chambers for many reptiles like Viper, water snakes, and rattlesnakes. Along with these, a small park for deer has also been established in the vicinity of the sanctuary.
There are barking and spotted deer's in the park, and it is one of the main attractions in the sanctuary. It also has a lake called Jheel. This place is a blessing for you, while taking a walk along the nature trail, you can take pictures of the mesmerizing surrounding and creatures.
This sanctuary also provides facilities for staying inside it. It has a guest house with lodging and boarding facilities with a restaurant, and a children's park.
