Shaheed Smarak is located in Lucknow and built by the Lucknow Development Authority for the fighters, who lost their lives in the First War of Independence in 1857. It is well known that during the first battle of independence in Lucknow, many residents of Lucknow, rulers, and Nawab Wajid Ali Shah and his Begum Hazrat Mahal had vigorously participated in this movement.
This memorial has built on lines of Amar Jawan Jyoti of Delhi, where people sacrificed for the country to pay their respects. This monument was built to commemorate the first century of the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857. This monument was designed by the famous architect Prasanna Kothi.
It is a beautiful and attractive marble tower that is artfully situated in the center of the city on the banks of the Gomti River.
