Auniati Satra is a prominent Satra of Majuli, which was founded in 1653 by Niranjan Pathakdev. The idol worshiped in this satra is that of Lord Krishna, also known as Govinda.
It is known for the Satra Palanam and Apsara dances. Palanam is the most prominent religious festival of Satra celebrated every year in November. Prayers are held throughout the day in the prayer room of Satra. The prayer hall consists of seventy-one dances dedicated to Lord Govinda.
Apart from Palanam, religious festivals like Ras Leela, Janmashtami, Holi, and Bohag Bihu are held here with great pomp. Autiyani Satra is also famous for its vast collection of pottery, handicrafts, and jewelry of Assam.
